This feature will reveal certain place types within 100kms of the current place. To use it, look for where it says ‘below the map image, select a place type by left clicking on the drop-down box.



Select say ‘Populated Place’ and watch them appear before your eyes on the map. If you don’t see any populated place icons appear, you may be zoomed in too close. If you do see some populated place icons appear, you can left click on them to reveal more information such as a place description, links and images.


Another great thing is you can select additional place types and toggle them on and off with the checkboxes. These additional layers with their checkboxes will appear under ‘Overlays’ in the main map control box on the right hand side.
