I fitted extractors and larger diameter exhaust (2 1/4") to my hz motor (series 75 ute). I have found a slight increase in power. I can keep in gears for longer under load eg up hills before changing than what I could before.
Cheers

replied: Bob,
Diesels and turbo's, they were just born for each other, but only if you can afford one! As well as turbo's, a nice free flowing exhaust will do the world of good, as will a set of Finer Filters or the like. Diesel 75 series are fantastic, they go forever and do it bloody well but as John Rooth said in this months Australian 4WD Monthly "the 75 had to be able to pull mountains if required, but nobody said anything about doing the job in a hurry." So your troopy will do the job, without any worries, it just gives you plenty of time to enjoy the scenery along the way. Cheers, Jono.
