Beaver hand winch handles

Dear all,
I have got the opportunity to buy a new Beaver T516 hand winch (1600 kgs), however it has no handles. Can I make the handles myself and if so what materials would be suitable and what length and how strong do they need to be?
Thanks

Im not familiar with this winch but I think a handle would need to be about .5 metre. If its too long you can cut it back. I would use some 30-35 mm steel tube slighty flattened at each end to take a handle and the gear shaft.
Might even be able to modify an old hills hoist handle or at least use the handle.

When you say no handles, do you mean the long tube type like handle or the small ones that connect to the jaws.

The tube handle is about 4ft long, but the other short handles I thought were in a single piece with the jaws built into them. Big job to build them from scratch.

Might look for another hand winch.

I bought mine new a few years ago and the handles and extendable pole handle came with it. Are you sure that they didn't forget to put them on or lost them? One day a week, one weekend a month, six weeks a year.

Just go to a TJM or ARB store and buy a $26.00 handle to suit the magnum hand winch
