Trailblaza fridge
Submitted: Thursday, Apr 01, 2004 at 16:26

Just wondering if anyone out there has had any experience with the new Trailblaza fridges with 125mm of insulation. Trailblaza claim they are 20% more efficient than the original 75mm insulated jobbies.
I know they are large and heavy but this is not an issue to me.
The
fridge
I am looking at is the 70 litre.
Any comments (except to buy another
fridge
) appreciated.
Regards
Bart

replied: If they are an improved trailblaza, they must be awesome, they are the best frdge money can buy in my opinion. Ours is about 10 years old i think and has travelled extensively, you can run it safely over night with no need for second battery to start the vehicle.

replied: Hi, I run a 60ltr. model & have had it for over 15 years without any problems what so ever, so all I can say is if they have increased the insulation wall thickness then they must be all the more efficient as far as keeping the tinnies cool. Cheers.

replied: Our 70l Trailblaza would be the best accessory we have for our 4by..... I have the standard insulation, the 125mm can only be better, but don't know if its warranted. But if you have the room and the money..... why not??? :-)

replied: toymn8r,
Purchased an 80 litre model with the 125mm insulation in September 03. Cost was $1764. (Approx.) Fitted with temperature gauge, voltmeter, quick freeze switch and slide off lid. (lift lid partially and slide off, good for height restricted areas) The reason i bought the trailblaza was a friend has had a 100 litre one for 10 years plus and it has been on some very rough tracks and never missed a beat. I have not used it in the wild (so to speak) as yet, but will in August. Use it as a fridge/freezer at home at present.
Cheers

replied: I can echo most of the above Trailblaza stories - happy owner of a 60 litre for just over 10yrs, it's spent virtually all that time in the back of a 60 series and now a 78 series, never let me down.
Cheers
