Travel into Western Australian Deserts
Submitted: Thursday, Apr 01, 2004 at 18:21
Oztraveler2004
G'day All,
I am planning an extensive trip into the Western Australian Deserts in May and June 2004. I will be traveling the roads that Len Bedeall and his Gunbarrel Constuction Party bulldozed. Is there anybody that may want to travel these roads during this time. I will be traveling the
Canning Stock Route
, Talawana Track,
Gary Junction
Road,
Sandy Blight Junction Road
,
Connie Sue Hwy
, Gary Hwy, Anne Beadell Hwy, Wapet Road and the Old Gunbarrel Hwy. I am looking for a companion (male or female) or another vehicle to accompany me. If you have any interest please respond.
Also anyone that may have any advise for travel on these roads please let me know. Anything thing is appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your advise/response

What you are proposing is not very pratical. hence the question, I suggest you try something a little easyer for you first attempt, we are constantly helping visitors but you must be prepared to learn the local conditions before driving huge distances.
Eric.

Thanks Eric for the reply. I realize this is a great distance and is not for the novice. I have been to
Australia
6 times and have been preparing for over 5 years to travel into the
Western Australia
Deserts. I feel I have the necessary skills and preparation to complete this journey. Again thank you for your advise and concern. I will take it under advisement.
Thanks again

That area is under siege at the moment with some torrential downpours and cyclones. May will possibly be a little early for these areas. I am particularly talking of CSR, Wapet Rd,
Gary Junction
& Talawana especially.
I myself had planned on seeing
Rudall River
National Park in May but we have had to postpone until June.
