Travelling Trans-continental

Wots the go with travelling along the service road on the trans-continental railway?? The word is its now fenced off with absolutely no entry..I was looking at going up the Googs Track then hanging West across the Nullabor..Any current info would be grateful..as I'm lookin to head West in about 3 days..

Jeez signy ....seems you are in trouble......sure as hell, Michelle says the track is shut....I'd like to know about that little bit between Malbooma and Tarcoola for the Goog's and east people ..... hope to find out soon.

That little bit is ok to travel actually. I have had a statement clarifying this on our Permits page (look under the Trip Planning menu tab), but realised I hadn't duplicated it across to the SA and WA road conditions pages (Look under the On the Road menu tab) where we also mention the Googs and Trans track conditions so have just added that a moment ago to make sure it is clear.

I travelled the full length of the track from Glendambo to Kalgoorlie two years ago.
Since then it has been closed and a $10,000 fine to be issued to anyone found crossing it now.Train drivers have been instructed to report any vehicle they see.
I know the USA has bought the railway.They have also bought the town of Cook and left only one person in the town .
