Has anyone recently gone into this national park? If so how were the roads? also we require decent maps on the area. we are planning a trip into the park in July and would appreciate any information we can get.

carawine gorge
from
marble bar
last december. thanks to the woodie woodie mining operations, the road between
marble bar
& telfer mine entrance is sealed. the hema desert tracks maps were fairly good.

replied: I have been troughout the Rudall couple of years ago , and couple of my mates where there 3 months ago . Road into the park from Telfer is in reasonable condition , but very rough once inside . You neet to have very good clearance for tracks to Camel rock and
Hanging Rock
. The trip is NOT suitable for trailers and caravans as all the tracks have become lot worse than couple of years ago . You will get 1 :250.000 Rudall map from any good map
shop
.

Thanks for your reply, Richard. We have already been in contact with CALM
Karratha
. The map they sent us was a photocopy and not very clear. We will get an original before we leave.
One of our party has a GPS.

replied: We have travelled through the Rudall in the middle of August last year from the Tallawana track to Telfer. Compared to previous years the track was carved up and therefore we found it rather unpleasant to travel.
