Parso

Can anyone tell me if the tyre manufacturers have come out with 17 inch all terrain tyres rated for the Landcruiser 100 Series t/d?

Thanks Fossy.
The Sahara is fitted with Dunlop Grandtreks - NOT GOOD!
It seems logical that the manufacturers; ie. BFG, should come out with a tyre as there will be more & more vehicles with 17 inch rims.

iT IS ONLY THE Sahara at this stage that comes in 17"so I assume this is what you have. I am not sure of the size but BFG certainly have a LT 265 70 17 tyre. Pro-comp do a tyre in 17"and I am sure a lot of the othjers do as well but not sure if they are LT or P rated.

The easiest thing with these is to get a set of steel 16"rims which then have a wide tyre selection and save your alloys and grandtreks for the bitumen.

the 16"fit straight on with no modification and is a legal wheel size for the 100 series. if you want 16"and cant find any at a reasonable price email me off line.

Parso There are 17" tyres around for prado, Goodrich and Coopers, so I suspect that these would also do the cruiser. There was a post a few days ago about prado 17" tyres.

I think the latest Overlander magazine has an article on 17" tyres.

Ron Moon in 4WD mag has canned them for the bush. Sez we should stick with 16" wheels and use taller tyres. I basically agree with him. Low profile rubber is for Toorak tractors.

Did Ron stop to think long enougb that 17" rims dont just "bolt on" to some models that come with them?
