any info re 4WD'ing around Kalbarri in WA would be apprecialted. ie tracks to do, things to see: mainly interested in 4wding in the area rather than seeing the sights.

Hey jono, there are some awesome sandunes about 30km south of kalbarri. One in particular is about 280ft stralght down we went down it last november. We all shit ourselves but it was worth it. We went with a freind who knows the area well. Otherwise youve got to be fairy careful.
Doesnt take much to fall over an edge when the sand is blowing across the dunes, makes it hard to see the edges. The area is called lucky bay.
ANother track is to follow the river north of the town nice drive and plenty of wildlife just follow the road up past the beach resort.

i might have the chance to head up there (from perth) in about a month or so, so i will look into Lucky Bay. Thanks for the info. Any tips on where to get more info on Kalbarri/lucky bay/surrounding areas? Cheers again, Jono.
