Sorry about your problems but my son has a Hilux with pedders fitted, used extensively offroad and has had no problems at all. You would be surprised how many shocks are built by monroe and badged to other brands. This is common in the automotive industry to have one factory making the same components for different customers under their own brand.

When I was in Bamaga (cape york) we visited the local mechanic
for some minor repairs and noticed that there was a pile of about
7 pedders shockies sitting in the corner of the workshop not a good
sign if you ask me, it was even funnier because one of the guys with
us just put a suspension kit on from pedders.

Yeh, the guy at Pedders was only trying to push his product; that's why forums like this are great. Unbiased (or even biased) opinions, true life experiences and recommendations. Sounds to me as though you have a bit of a persol problem, not a product problem. Mate I've had Pedders products on all of my vehicles for the last 5 years and have done the Cape trip on a number of times. I've had one shock let go on me and have found pedders support and warranty to be second to none. They had another shock sent to me no questions and all they asked was to bring the faulty unit back with me. This I've found with no other manufacturer!!! If you saw where we had taken the vehicle the previous day you would ask why they all didn't fail!!!!

So to all the people out there who have read your gripe think about this.....If Ralph hates Pedders this much ask why? Do you think there is more to the story than what Ralph has written? I think so!

Back at ya Ralph and good luck with your next lot of shocks....what ever they may be!

I thought these threads were set up to ask other Four Wheel Drive owners their thoughts and opinions of different products or information in general... ...not a way of getting into a popular web site to have a personal attack at a national company and the many francises.
If you have to resort to this.....I struggle to believe the problem is the product!!!

Again like I said last time...I have had a great run with my suspension, the Manager at the Pedders store I bought the suspension off couldn't have been any more helpful. So to me thats all that matters!!


Sorry if you feel this way....and again I don't believe this is the place to be airing your frustations! Maybe kicking the dog at home may help.

Gee Ralph you really do have a chip on your shoulder , i think you should take Johns advice and have a chill pill, maybe a whole bottle of them . I wasnt going to comment B4 but i will add my two bobs worth now , i have used pedders suspension on most of my vehicles and have never experienced any probs , with product or staff, i honestly believe you should take a good look at yourself mate , and seriously CHILL OUT

Is 'Ralph' real or just another incarnation of our almost forgotten troublemaker? (Remember the anti-Landrover tirades?) As others have said, they've had no problems with Pedders, who've been around for quite a while now. I also find it difficult to believe that someone with the kind of aggressive approach, or the poor command of language we are witnessing here, has been a store owner as claimed in the original post. So, in the same way as Pedders provide balanced suspension packages for Australian conditions, I can only assume the author is one of the most evenly-balanced people I can think of - with a chip on EACH shoulder. Ralph i have to say if your,s is a personel problem with pedders( and you obviously cant handle objective opinions)then you should,nt have posted your opinion on this forum.As you have done so you have to expect both positive & negative responses.Here,s a few comments for you to chew on from someone who works in the automotive industry. 1.Warranty starts at time of original fitment & expires at set time after reguardless of date or amount of claimes.This is common practice with both genuine and aftermarket manufactures,not just pedders.2.As pointed out in another response rebadging of good products is also common practice in the industry maybe you should consider weather pedders are rebadged gabrial shocks or is it the other way round after all pedders were the inventers of foam cell technolagy.3.If you have lost 350k i would say it,s because of your attitude not pedders products(my opinion)if you want to recoupe some of that money i,d suggest you start by selling your computer,and leaving the rest of the planet alone..My dealings with pedders have recently included a warranty claim,their commitment to total customer satisfaction in my case was second to none.NO BULL.

Ralph,i will take a few more lines to clarify some detailes i own a 1991 nissan patrol LWB and had shock failure on the way to cape york recently i rang my local pedders store from coen NQ and the store manager arranged for a replacement to be sent from the Cairns store up to Seisa beach c/van park the part arrived there the day before i did. This is all at pedders expense and my satisfaction so you can imagine how i feel having had a failure on possibly the worst roads in this country and then a replacement sent to a remote part part of australia at no expense to me."SHIT RALPH YOUR A RIGHT WANKER!!".
