Check with the oil company that this type of filter will not remove the additives from your lubrication oil.
You cannot use ordinary toilet rolls.
These filters had their day twenty years ago.
If you are looking to fit better filtration on a diesel engine, then look to something like a Baldwin B50 filter.

Yeh, had their day, right.
Tell that to the mechanic who stripped down my mates GQ at 480,000 klms, always run with a Frantz, and which looked and ran like new. (Why did he strip it? Because he was buying it.) He reassembled it and replaced virtually nothing......
Or to me with my Isuzu diesel nearing 25 years old, huge ( god knows how many) klms as the odo stopped years ago -but over 400,000 and 14 year old Patrol, both absolutely perfect mechanically.....

Yes you need the cardboard roll in the centre, you also need the right size (small) centre which is getting hard to get. Some commercial toilet paper is still perfect.
You're probably better off buying the specially made stuff which various suppliers have. Cheers

dont forget to use the perfumed kind. Better sniffing perfume (dont go there) than unleaded fumes.

I believe that bypass centrifugal oil filters are superior.

From motor engineering advice I obtained, no problems fitting one to (say) a Cruiser however a return inlet has to be fitted to the sump.

However some say that aftermarket alterations introduce more risks than they appear to solve. This and the price rule them out - unless one day Toyota offers it ex-factory as an option.

I believe safe extended oil changes via a bypass centrifugal filter would be attractive to diesel owners and would be good environmental marketing.

WOFTAM? Is that equivalent to a 'crock of bleep'?

If so, from what i've read that could be a common description of toilet roll filters :-)
