Brad
Am interested in having my 4wd transported from
Sydney
to
Alice Springs
by truck. Has anyone any experience or comments or idea of suitable companies that can do this ?

Bob
replied: Brad. It sounds very expensive. Other options include hiring someone to drive your vehicle, or if you aren't moving there for good, hire a vehicle in AS. As expensive as 4WD hire is (about $150/day) its got to be cheaper than the trucking option (unless you are looking at long term in AS).

Darwin
(via A/S) and remember it costing around $1000.00 and as for a suggestion on whom, try Finemores or TDG as a starting point

Many thanks.
I have taken the Ghan with the 4wd before and it was very good, the only problem is that there are severe height restrictions, which meant I couldn't take a roofrack out of Adelaide, and you can't even fit on a 4wd out of
Sydney
.
