Tag-a-long tours to Cape York

Submitted: Wednesday, Apr 25, 2001 at 00:00

David

We live in Qld and were wanting to ask people whether they have been on a tag-a-long tour to Cape York and if so, who did they go with and what were they like? Can anyone tell us who the best operator is who does catered tours?
Any information would be useful. Also who not to go with! We want to enjoy the area and dont want to be too rushed either!

Hi david
We operate 4wd Tag Along tours to many places including the Cape. Our passenger tours are fully catered and tag Alongs are usually self catered - but we can offer fully catered if required
We are running one to the Gulf & Cape for 22 days in July/August this year which is fully booked.
We have had several requests for a 2nd trip in late August so give us a call.
visit our website at www.4wdadventuretours.com.au to see other tours

Why go tag-a-long? You follow in others dust and to their schedule. There is plenty of good info on that area, maps etc. Moons book on Cape York is an excellent guide. There are lots of other travellers up there in main part of Dry season. In 98 we did the Cape solo - prepared well, had sound vehicle, etc. Had no problems, never wished we were with others or a group. We visited Lakefield NP, Silver Plains, Weipa, Telegraph Track one way - bypass roads the other, Vrilya Point,Ussher Point, the Top, Chili Beach/Iron Range. Took us 10 weeks - lots of places to really linger and enjoy.

Try the Albury based Outback Tagalong Tours who do trips right across the country. My family have been with Brenda and Tony and they were great. We are going on a transcontinent crossing with them in July August.
Their web site is www.outbacktagalong.com.au

If you are inexperienced tag along is the way to go
