Cheap fridge slides

TJM have got a new line of fridge slides much cheaper than all the others brands. $220 bought us a heavy duty fridge slide to suit our 39L engel. Very well made, incorporates bearing slides, fully extendable and tidy looking unit. Badging says "Front Runner 4WD Equipment" but was told they're made in South Africa by National Luna who also have a few other accessories appearing on the market. Obviously haven't been able to test the slide "in the field" yet but price wise its a winner.

What are they normally worth? Last few I priced were $220... which I still think is $150 too much!

You must get better prices over there in Melbourne. I rang around Perth and got these prices:

National Lunar (up to 40L engel) $220
Engel (up to 40L) $295 or $275 at another store
Piranha (up to engel 40L, Waeco 50L) $295
Off Road Systems (up to engel 40L, Waeco 50L) $320
Black Widow (up to 40L engel) $270

I was down the local caravan and motor home accessories store (Archerfield, Brisbane) a couple of months ago looking at fridge slides and they were about $220.00 too.

Good info Melissa.

This gives people another choice and TJM usually have a good product range.

I originally looked at the Engel Fridge Slide but decided that the quality left something to be desired. It had a fair bit of side-play and "wobbled" when extended. This surprised me a bit as their Fridge range is excellent.

Ended up choosing the "Black Widow" Fridge Slide and I'm not sorry I did. A very strong, good looking unit which doesn't rattle in the back of the Jack, without the fridge on it.

Yes, Sth African made, I was told.
I have seen some of the Front Runner range, here in Adelaide:
- roof rack
- rack bag
- jerry can holders for roof rack mounting
- 40 l water tank, can be roof rack mounted
- shovel holder

They were well constructed items.

Tried the website, but nbg - I think it would not load. Site addy was frontrunner.za or similar. Google will no doubt pick it up if it is functional.

I got to wondering if they weren't testing the water in Oz, beacause it was only 'available' briefly.

Cheers, Miff !
