it might be just me having a whinge but the new look topic is a bit harder than the old way where the posters name was in big letters.
some times ill read a post and remember who posted it and if i want to go back i just looked for eg JIMBO POSTED ABOUT
TYRES
rather than
TYRES
by jimbo.
there you my whinge for the day.

Having another look, If your goin to have the Subject first on the left, how about putting the Posters name on the far right hand side.
Like Jim, I also dont read some peoples post cause 99.9% of them are crap.

Truckster,
The posting date and time is where it always was, as is the replies.
And the posters name is on the right hand side of the topic.
Looks okay to me.

Must admit I did prefer it when "Truckster" was more visable in the left hand side of the post, then they were much easier to avoid!

Truckster,
The lastest update time is shown in the LHS section in the light blue. I removed the seperate latest times in leiu of the single one that shows basically the same thing.
Far right for the Poster was my other idea however it can make the wraping a little funny in 800x600 mode. I was also thinking of putting it under the topic extract in the bottom right hand corner. I may try that as I have a spare line to play with in this box.

I would put the post time and reply times back where they were when looking at the main page.. Much easier to read.
Inbetween REPLIES - FOLLOWUPS - VIEWS...
Having it in light blue or dark blue doesnt really make either time stand out.
On the left is cluttered, and harder to go through.
Having the poster name below the topic is an option but theres already enough 'reading' on the left, the right is clearer.
Or Poster on left, Topic in Center? Or Vice Versa
How many people use 800x600 anymore? about .000000000000000000000000000000001%?

Mainey (WA)
replied: New look.......
When you are looking to read only posts from existing and known posters who you are 'friendly' with, you miss the interaction with the NEW POSTERS....
In the new look system you can look at post content relevant to the post, eg a post heading “
Tyres
” is sure to be about
Tyres
, till it gets Hijacked, from existing members and from new members as well, do you remember when you were only a newbie to the EO
forum
, you would be left out if you were not a regular poster and consequently not known to the other members, when you read a post relevant to the subject matter you get to read ideas and thoughts from both new and existing members (won't call them old) and you get to read on subjects that are relevant to your requirements, just my thoughts on the new system, I fully endorse it...
If I want to read posts by “author” I just put their Nik into the ‘key words’ search field an press ‘go’…. simple and works for me.
