westernbelle.com - camping australia.

i think i've also recently seen another comprehensive list of rest areas and free stops on someone els's website, but can't remember which one. If i think of it, i will post again.

I would be interested in finding out where you CAN'T free camp. We've found great spots in most places we've been, but from various posts it seems areas like Uluru and other central NT places free camping is a no-no.

Hi,
Campsaustralia wide is the book.
He is currently in the process of getting edition no 3 out and it will include the Hemma Atlas as part of it as well, and he is also adding photos or doing another book with photo listings of all the sites.
So dont bother with no2 wait for the new one. Bigger and better. (and probably dearer)

Excellent book though.

Hi,
Here is the info from his website.
The Third Edition is on its way! BIGGER and BETTER than ever - over 3,000 sites, 400 pages in full colour, including the complete Hema Road Atlas. Due for release in April 2005.

Watch this space for details of Camps 3 and CampsSnaps - our new companion book of over 1700 photos of campsites taken during our 15 month, 60,000 km field research trip.

So just check back at his website closer to April.

Cheers
