Gary
replied: We camped at Geraldton Bore last year, which is at the
Gunbarrel Highway
end of the
Hunt Oil road
. We actually camped on the Hunt OilRoad and we didn't realie it was a gaetted road until we checked the map later so the end is pretty overgrown. I walked up it a bit and its like all the little used rods out there, overgrown and will heaps of spinnifex down the middle.
I know this isn't much help but at least its an answer. we are planning to do the David Carnegie soon and did the Gary Highway last year so we know how hard it is to get information on the lesser used tracks

Michael Farrell
replied: Thanks for the answer Gary, the only query I have is did you actually complete the length of the
Hunt Oil Road
to the
Great Central Road
which is 260 Kms, or did you only drive the
top end
of the
Hunt Oil road
from the Geraldton Bore and return

Gary
replied: I have just been looking on the VKS net work and I have found a site about the
Hunt Oil Road
. The web sit is info@vks737.on.net. Ps its under
Canning Stock Route
on the VKS 4WD site. It sounds as if its like the Gary Highway when we didn't get over 40kmph. Cheers Gary
