Rod
replied: I have previously had IPC or is it ICP pencil beams. They gave good light, but corrosion on the cases and bolt fittings etc, when I wanted to remove them to place on another vehicle the bolts swiveled around in their sockets which are supposed to hold them. It resulted in having to ues a Cold Chisel to remove
the nut
, I thought never again.
I now have two KC Driving/Spot Lights 130w sealed beams (which I thing are now hard to come by) the casing and fittings are all stainless steel, they have a shock absorption fitting and a 23 year guarantee. I think the price i paid was around $176.00 ea. Hope this helps.

Trev
replied: I've used a number of lights in the past 20 years, rallying, 4wd, etc. IPF, CIBIE, HELLA, NARVA, the ones that have never let me down are the Cibie Super Oscars. I run them with standard 100w globes. Both are semi flood/pencil lenses which are as good as you need. You'll never outdrive full pencils in a 4wd, so semi floods are the go.

Andrew
replied: LightForce seems to be the light of choice. They are light ( no pun intended ), strong ( They actually demo them with a shotgun ), produce one of the best beams in the industry, made in Oz and have excellent backup and support. I was in the factory when they told me a story of a crash repairer that rang them (!!) and said that they had a ute in that was totalled. Nothing worked on it except for the LightForce lights ( they had to get another bettery to test them ). Many truckers use them, hit animals head on, get out and adjust the beam and then drive on.
All in all, excellent.
