Fridge Slide

Finally joined up. Wondering if car
fridge
is mounted direct to slide, is a spring base really necessary? For a
Waeco
CF110.
Cheers Peter

replied: Hi Peter,
I have an Engel attached directly to the slide. I've bolted anchor points onto the slide then have used those tie hook things (you know the ones with an eye at one end and hook at the other) to secure the
fridge
using the handles.
With all the corrugations, hills, bumps etc over the last four years there's no evidence of damage to the slide or
fridge
.
My drawer system is the 4x4 Interior storage system that ARB supply, I think they make them near Cairns. Reason I say this is in case your storage system is of a different make. If you do bolt anchor points make sure you use nice wide washers to prevent any damage to the slide when you're travelling offroad - obviously with a full heavy
fridge
if you hit bumps there will be some sort of strain as the slide resists the
fridge
's movement.
RegardsLove the bush. Chris

replied: Hi Peter. Don't know about the
Waeco
- I also have an Engel. Mine is bolted directly to the slide using longer bolts where the 4 legs bolt onto the
fridge
bottom. Awkward to remove but at least it's hard to steal as it lives in the back of the truck permanently. Leave it on all the time as well (except on really hot days with a locked vehicle). No trouble so far at all.
Cheers, Gerry
