Hi,
Does anybody know if the factory sidesteps from a GU will fit on a GQ?
Thanks,
Angry

I don't think they fit. Different body shape.
If you are replacing the factory steps, third party steps like ARB are cheaper. I have just had to replace the steps on my GU and a pair of the deluxe ones from ARB cost around the same as a single factory one.

Hi Bonz.
There is a noticable difference in both torque and power.
Where I used to struggle up in 5th, I now do with relative ease.
Low rev driving is substantially improved and the throttle seems more linear.
I have been driving on a development ECU from Nissan which was supposed to address powerloss problems, so I was doubtful about how much the Dtronic would improve the car. So far, thumbs up only.

Ari,
how'd you get onto the development ECU? I have a small power loss at about 1900-2100rpm (like a dead spot) that is mildly annoying, i must admit tho that the Patrol would pass uphill fully loaded on the way to and from QLD without much drama. Had a roofrack on too!
Keen to hear your reply

Hi Bonz,
The problems the new ECU was supposed to address were mainly to do with power loss at high ambient temperatures and at high altitude. As a side benefit, it also improved turbo linearity and extended the power band up to approx 4000RPM.
I doubt that the dead-spot you describe has to do with the ECU. Mainly GU2 models were affected. Mine is March 2001 build.
I think a Dtronic chip would probably solve this for you
Feel free to e-mail me offline if you'd like more information
