Has anybody traversed the Gawler Ranges. I believe they are quite spectacular, any comments?

Sept 99 we went west to Kingoonya, then south via Kangaroo Well and Moonaree to Mt Ive. Were in Defender, towing 14 foot Trakmaster van. Was a very easy run. Pleasant camp area at Mt Ive. Staying there gives you access to Lake Gairdner - truly spectacular - much more so than Lake Eyre. We found the walking and bird spotting very good too. Then went via Yardea to Minnipa - varied scenery. Well worth visiting, but not in high summer!
