CB/CD Interference

Hi there. I have an unusual problem which has just started occuring. I have a CD/Radio player mounted above (but not touching) a
UHF radio
. If I am playing a CD, and someone talks to me on the UHF, the cd audio cuts out for about 5 seconds and then returns...usually a few seconds after the person has starting transmitting to me. Any ideas of how I can fix this one?

replied: G'day Mark, when I had a Bushfire radio in my ute as a volunteer, a very powerful radio it was, my windscreen wipers used to go off, as in back and forth. In the middle of summer!! It would seem the powerful radiowaves running to the aerial went past the wiper wire thereby setting them off. Check where your wiring runs and adjacent to. Good luck. Merry Xmas to everyone on ExplorOz.

replied: Try running a heavier power/earth wire to both the CD and UHF - I've seen strange things happen when the cables too small.
