GU 3.0L Cruise control

Does anyone know if there is a cruise control available for the 3.0 GU Patrol auto? When I bought my 2001 model, Nissan didn't offer it as an option and I haven't yet heard of an aftermarket one.

I have also 3.0l. Read posts on throttle surge before you fit as the problem seems to be related to cruise control. I have had my vehicle since first release and now after 40,000 kms have not experienced throttle surge.

Nissan have released a electronic cruise control for the GU 3.0 litre diesel. Try your local dealer
I know Grand Nissan can get the for about $500 fitted.

Ray, does the unit from K-Mart have magnets or a coil as speed sensor?

Also Ray, how does the K-mart unit control the electronic fuel/injector pump. As I understand it there is no actual throttle arm to attach to. Is this correct?

Hi Russell. The cable from the vacuum comes inside the cabin and connect directly to the arm on the accelerator, which is the way Nissan do it. The vacuum pickup is near the place for the second battery

Hi John, the unit comes with magnets. Nissan very thoughtfully put a cross member just were the pick has to go, mine is attached with two large hose clamps. I have had the magnets on both the 80 series and now the Nissan without any trouble for 300000klms. You can contact the factory that makes the cruise control in Sydney and they will give you the wiring details to pickup the speedo impulse, but I decided that the magnets are fine, they are wired onto the shaft

Thankyou to all who replied. I have found a list of local (WA) distributors for the Autron "drive by wire" cruise control systems. See the link below. Installed price is approx $650.
