Does anybody have any experiance, good or bad, with these pumps? All comments welcome.

replied: John; I have used one of these years ago on a race engine,the reason they were first used was to keep a constant speed for the water circulation. race motors at very high RPM were often circilating the water too quickly to cool it or the w/pumps were spinning fast enough to cause cavitation. The davies craig pumps are simple and effective but I would question the value of replacing the standard waterpump, what are you hoping to achieve?.......david

David, trying to eliminate a problem of not maintaining engine temp in a 2.8 TD GQ. If the engine is not upto temp then it over fuels and washes the bores and is very smoky. This is the third thermostat in 100OOO k's. Also wanting to cool down water cooled turbo etc after engine switched off. Hope this makes sense? John
