Jackaroo wheels

Can somebody tell me the distance between the edge of the outside of the wheel to the centre on a 16x7 steel wheel of a later model Jackaroo? I want to replace the 16x6 wheels on my rodeo with wider wheels. Sunraysias in this size are expensive and I was hoping to pick up some discarded 16 x 7 of a Jackaroo or similar for a cheaper price. Obviouysly wanting to know if they are the correct offset.

Mark, don't know those exact measurements, but if it's a late model Jackaroo wheel you are looking for, Sunraysias will be lots cheeper. If you can find them, you will find Jackaroo wheels rediculously expensive. This is mainly due to the fact that new original steel wheels are about $500, while std mags are over $1000. Sunraysia don't make a wheel with the same offset as std Jackaroo either. Here in S.A. I had to really hunt wreckers to find wheels. My first purchase was a steel wheel for a 2nd spare at $150. Then last year to outfit my new Kimberly Kamper, I couldn't find steel wheels, but instead found a wrecked SE and was able to buy the four good mag wheels for $200 ea. another wrecker wanted $500 each for the same!! Mike, found your comments interesting. I have just ordered an off road camper trailer, and wheels compatible with SE Jackaroo were specified on the contract. No extra charge was made. I wonder if the trailer manufacturers are aware of the problem you outlined above. I have a 2000 model Jackaroo and had difficulty trying to find a second spare wheel at a reasonable price (steel about $460 new each and alloy about $860 new each) The cheapest I could find a secondhand steel rim was $150. I ended up buying a Rodeo 16x6 steel rim (off a new vehicle) from a tyre store for $25. The Rodeo offset is was not too different from the Jackaroo offset of 135mm from the inside edge of the rim to the rim centre. Hope this helps.

Nick, Our Kimberly Kamper came with 6 stud wheels which would fit the Jackaroo, but the offset meant they didn't match,ie not much use to us. As I said, I got hold of some SE mags, took the BFGs which had done about 35000kms, off Jack and replaced them with new ones, so I now travel with 9 completely matching wheels. (5 on Jackaroo + extra spare & 3 on Kamper). The Kamper price was reduced accordingly. Boy, our outfit looks fantastic when it's hooked up. Happy trails, Mike.

Mark, can't help with the offset, but I picked up a Jac. steel wheel for $50 at the tyre dealers opposite my Jac. dealer in Oakleigh (Melbourne).

Steven, unfortunately for us, Adelaide has less vehicles and therefore less 4WD wreckers than the other capitals-hence higher prices. I've thought about buying interstate on the net, but am skeptical of buying sight unseen. Happy trails, Mike.
