Approx

1680 Km 19 Hours

All depends on routes you take, etc..

Wouldnt be cheaper and easier to have the van chucked on a car carrier and shipped up? would only be few $100..

Because all our new cars are manufactured in Vic & SA the cost outwards from these states is high.

I just got a quote for a car from Melb to Cairns - $1280
Melb to Surfers - $780

Opposite dirrection is less than half those prices.

Gyday DenisL,

Have done Toowoomba Melbourne on numerous occasions.

Usually comes out around 15 hours with 2 drivers going via the Newell Hwy.

You can do it faster or slower than that - its up to you

Just add the time it takes from Brissie to Toowoomba.

Unless you really have to, don't even think of going via Sydney.

All the truckers take the Newell Hwy, just ask the long suffering residents of James St Toowoomba. :) :)

I'll go along with Trucster.
You will save heaps by sending it down on a car carrier.
Just the fuel one way will cost you more, plus wear and tear on your carKing Edward River, Mitchell Plateau

Brisbane to Melbourne via Newell 14.5 hrs (TR3a in 1975).
Better would be to fly Bne to Mel, cheaper than fuel cost alone.
Best would be to have it transported (depending on cost).
Honestly, driving him down, then both driving back would be crazy :-)Bob

Try Canberra Caraways.
Office in Lismore, syndey, canberra and a couple of other places if you looking for them in the phone book.

My guess is $450 or so.... worth a try anyway.
