Would someone be able to give me step by step instructions to adjust the handbrake on a 96 Prado?

Yep!

But you'll need to join the Prado group:
Go to http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/90series/

In the files section, technical folder, you'll find a full description of this procedure.

Peter,

Trythis also: www.lcool.org/index.html. Click on technical and if you go to 80 series section, it'll show you how to do that handbrake. Imagine they are same principle. Is done by Norm Needham, bit of a fourby guru.

There are comprehensive instructions linked from

link text

Also you can join LCOOL Prado technical email list (along with other Land Cruiser specific lists) from link text - You need to apply from here as applications from yahoogroups are not permitted with LCOOL (Land Cruiser Owners On Line)
