replied: I use the "Command" AP50 which cost me the princely sum of $150 about a year and a half ago, on a Patrol TD42. (Fitted myself)
Absolutely can't fault it and absolutely couldn't live without it now I'm used to it. I even use it often in a 60kph zone as it saves me from speeding.
Have used the hand throttle very occasionally in the past to "give my foot a rest" on the highway, but no need to now.
Cheers

I too have a command AP50 which I and a mate fitted on my 62 series cruiser. I also got the extra adapter to go into the speedo drive instead of wiring the magnetic sensor to the tailshaft. I too would not be without this now, it has not missed a beat in 2 1/2 years including a trip from Adelaide, up the
birdsville track
to Lawn hill bourketown top of cape
york
and back to Adelaide. I have done about 85K with it.

Kev,
Have Command units fitted in two 79 series tojo utes. One is n/a and the other is factory turbo. They both work okay, and just have a stalk fitted under the wiper stalk, on steering column.
I like the unit in the turbo, because it "stores" the current speed for 'ron. Even if you stop, and switch off, it will reset on the speed you were doing, before the stop. This better than the tojo factory units, in 80 series, that need resetting if your speed drops under 40 clicks.
Dunno what they're like to fit, these 2 units were on vehicles when we leased 'em.
