5 Rivers Lookout WA @ ExplorOz

Overlooking the town of Wyndham, at the summit of the Bastian Range is the Five Rivers Lookout - so named because of the vantage point over the Ord, Forrest, King, Durack and Pentecost Rivers that merge with the Cambridge Gulf.

A steep tar road leads to picnic shelters at the summit at an altitude of some 360m above sea level. There is a plaque with a map at the top that shows the area and identifies the rivers. There are also some barbecues and lots of space.

Gibb River Road
The Gibb River Road is the 4WD option of the 2 main routes crossing the Kimberley from east to west (or vice versa) and provides access to the numerous gorges that are the main highlight. [Feature Story]

Flanked by the impressive Bastion Range, Wyndham lies at the confluence of five rivers – Ord, Forrest, King, Durack and Pentecost, all which enter the Cambridge Gulf and surrounding mangrove swamps, mudflats and hills.
